The Uniformed Services University is marking the 51st anniversary of its founding with a number of events throughout the day, September 22.  The day also kicks off a weekend of reunion activities.

Students lead the way with a research poster display throughout the day that highlights the scientific work of a number of School of Medicine students.

Members of the Class of 1983 return for a tour of the campus in the morning.  For some, it’s the first time they’ve been on the campus since they graduated 40 years ago.  Reunion events also include an update by USU President Jonathan Woodson; a School of Medicine update by Dean Eric Elster, dinner in Washington, DC, and a number of other events. Class of 1993 and 2003 graduates have combined their reunion efforts for a family-friendly food truck-catered get together on Saturday, with other activities taking place throughout the weekend.

USU’s Facility Dog, Army Sgt. Grover, will be promoted to Staff Sergeant in a ceremony on Friday.  The event will be streamed live at 11:30 a.m. (ET) at https://youtube.com/live/dMZP9Lkt8uA

Air Force Maj.Gen. (Dr.) John J. DeGoes (USU ‘89), Deputy Surgeon General of the Air Force/Space Force, will be the featured guest speaker for this year’s Founders’ Day ceremony.

Dr. Leon Moores, President of the USU Alumni Association, class of 1990, will also deliver remarks, along with President Woodson. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. (ET) and will be streamed live to USU's YouTube channel at: https://youtube.com/live/3NJiMpUAReM.

Both livestreamed events will be available for later viewing on the site.
